Chatsworth is proud to have been chosen as communications partner for the 2024 ICMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference which takes place from 22 to 24 May in Brussels.

This flagship event brings together a membership of senior public sector officials, bankers, investors, lawyers, academics and journalists active in the cross-border bond markets.

The Chatsworth team will be on site throughout the event, reporting on the panels and keynote speeches. Follow ICMA’s LinkedIn feed for all the highlights throughout the week.

For over 50 years ICMA and its members have worked together to promote the development of the international capital and securities markets, pioneering the rules, principles and recommendations which have laid the foundations for their successful operation.

This is a serious and well-respected conference that brings together leaders from across capital markets to explore the most important market developments and challenges.

Speakers at the ICMA’s events include prime ministers, finance ministers, central bankers and major industry figures. This year’s speakers include:

  • Baroness Moyo discussing the next moral hazard in financial markets and how regulators can act now to avoid an economic crisis later
  • Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Former Prime Minister of Denmark on geopolitics
  • Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman, Coronation Group covering African capital markets
  • Bryan Pascoe, Chief Executive of ICMA opening Thursday with a wide ranging panel discussion covering ICMA’s activities across international capital markets
  • A keynote from newly appointed Euroclear CEO, Valérie Urbain

Discussions this year including a detailed exploration of the applications and risks of using AI in capital markets, the digitisation of bond markets, digital assets and CBDCs and the role of regulators in mitigating moral hazards in financial markets.

Also keep an eye on for panels moderated by the always excellent Katie Martin from the Financial Times and financial markets journalist, Eva Szalay, who are both very knowledgeable about their respective beats.
