It was a fast-paced role, juggling travel itineraries and diary management, across client comms and supplier contracts. And jumping in at the deep end managing an office move too!
Soon after a successful office renovation and move into our bright new space, it was an overnight switch to remote working during the pandemic. A far cry from the five-day office week and a return home to Suffolk after four years of city living.
Adapting the team to remote working was a challenge, but my focus quickly became keeping everyone engaged and team morale high, through Zoom calls and activities at home. The time I previously spent on travel itineraries was replaced with leaning into HR and I soon found out it was an area I enjoyed.
Fast forward six years, now an Associate Director, and I’ve carved out a successful role in Operations + HR at Chatsworth. It has been a rewarding journey, and working in a small team means I really notice the impact my work has on culture and engagement.
The hybrid nature of our working culture now means I get my city fix on London days (and my all-important Gail’s pastry) and time working from home in the countryside, where days begin with a dog walk or a trip to the farmer’s market. My little dachshund Fig joins me in the office sometimes, which is always a crowd-pleaser with the team!
