ICMA FinTech & Digitalisation Forum returns to London

Chatsworth is proud to be the communications partner for ICMA’s FinTech & Digitalisation Forum 2026, bringing together many of the world’s leading capital markets practitioners, policymakers and technology experts to discuss the future of international financial markets.

Taking place in London on 29 September at DLA Piper, the sold-out event will explore how digital technologies are reshaping every stage of the bond lifecycle from issuance and trading to settlement and post-trade infrastructure.

The programme brings together senior leaders from across the buy and sell side, market infrastructure providers, regulators, law firms and technology.

This year we have speakers from BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, HSBC, Euroclear, Swift, Tradeweb, MUFG Securities, Union Investment, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Banque de France, the European Stability Mechanism, Rabobank, State Street Investment Management, UBS, Clifford Chance, Moody’s and DLA Piper.

Shout out to Georgina Jarratt, ICMA’s Managing Director and Head of FinTech and Digitalisation, and the whole team for bringing us all together again. Under Georgina’s leadership, ICMA has become one of the industry’s leading convenors on AI, tokenisation, digital bonds, data standards and market infrastructure, bringing together policymakers and market participants from around the world to help shape the next generation of capital markets.

Bryan Pascoe, Chief Executive of ICMA, opens the day before Stephen Fisher, Chair of ICMA and Global Head of Political Affairs at Deutsche Bank, joins Christoph Hock (Union Investment), Emma Lovett (J.P. Morgan), Fabianna Del Canto (MUFG Securities) and Elli Ley (A&O Shearman) to discuss innovation across global bond markets.

Artificial intelligence remains one of the defining themes of this year’s agenda. A dedicated session featuring experts from BlackRock, the FCA AI Lab and Rabobank will examine how AI is changing investment management, trading and market operations, alongside the governance and regulatory challenges that accompany its adoption.

Tokenisation continues to move from proof of concept to practical implementation across fixed income markets. Sessions throughout the day will explore buy-side adoption, digital securities, programmable bonds, digital money and the future structure of capital markets, with contributions from BlackRock, State Street Investment Management, HSBC Orion, Swift, Tradeweb, Banque de France and others.

The programme also reflects the industry’s growing focus on interoperability and standards. Delegates will hear how initiatives including ICMA’s Bond Data Taxonomy (BDT), ISO 20022, the FINOS Common Domain Model (CDM) and Digital Regulatory Reporting (DRR) are helping create the common language needed for digital capital markets to scale. Experts from Euroclear, J.P. Morgan, Clearstream and DZ Bank will share practical experience from the front line of implementation.

Other highlights include discussions on DLT-enabled repo markets, primary market innovation, tokenised cash, central bank digital currencies, regulated stablecoins and the evolving role of settlement assets—topics that have rapidly moved from industry debate to live implementation across major financial institutions and market infrastructures.

For more than 50 years, ICMA has brought together market participants from across the international debt capital markets to promote resilient, efficient and globally integrated markets. Today, its work spans primary and secondary markets, repo and collateral, sustainable finance, and fintech and digitalisation, making the Forum one of the industry’s leading events for discussing the future of market infrastructure and financial innovation.

The Chatsworth team will be on site throughout the day, supporting ICMA and providing live coverage of the keynote speeches, panel discussions and industry announcements.

Follow ICMA on LinkedIn throughout the event for highlights and key takeaways from what promises to be one of the most important gatherings on the international capital markets calendar.
